    2. Final Project
    Option 1:
Now that you have learned about and done some hands-on exploration with a wide variety of tools to support ALL learners, what do you want for your classroom? Make a proposal!! Take your time. Make it relevant. Use this project as an opportunity to further explore apps, software programs, online tools (Dropbox, Diigo, google drive, Wikispaces, Edmodo, multimedia tools, Read and Write for Google, Padlet, Twitter, Chrome Extensions, iOS apps, Accessibility options built into operating systems, etc.) that you want/need for your classroom. Let your instructor know of any further resources you need! The Proposal can be a digital paper, or multimedia presentation or ??? Your Choice!

Strategies for consideration of student diversity [2 points],
Hardware and peripheral choices, including assistive technology [2 points]

    Option 2:
Use multimedia or write a reflection piece to demonstrate what impact this course has had on your professional practice. What has changed in your thinking? What did you understand prior to taking the course and what do you better understand now? Reflect on your participation and learning. Impress yourself with the paper or multimedia project you create and submit. This should be high quality work expected of graduate students who are lifelong learners. Take this opportunity to gain some closure on your experiences in SPND 422. Consider where your thoughts about Assistive Technology and Education started on our first night of class and compare to where you are now. What have you learned?
    Option 3:
With prior approval of the instructor, you can create your CHOICE of an alternative project that demonstrates understanding of course concepts and supports your needs and goals as a professional who works in special education. This should be a high quality project that reflects graduate student work.
    Remember to impress yourself!!

    2. Your school only provides assistive technology for students with complex special needs and is not addressing the needs of students with high-incidence special needs such as learning disabilities, executive function issues or mild cognitive impairments. How will you ensure the needs of all students are addressed? What tools do you believe your school needs to implement effective UDL and AT to meet the needs of this category of students who are overlooked? (The issues include reading below grade level, difficulties understanding content, problems with written output due to a variety of reasons, problems with organizing materials).

    4. Participants in this class have identified the main obstacles to AT implementation as insufficient financial resources, lack of time, fear of technologies and lack of training/PD. How would your group overcome these obstacles so that all students, including students on IEPs, needs are met?
    5. Nationally, many educators, administrators and parents believe that AT is only for AAC and not for learning and instruction, or believe that AT is a crutch. You have been tasked by OSEP at the federal government level to reimagine a campaign to change public attitudes about assistive technology. What would your (marketing) campaign look like? How would you influence change at the national level? Include a specific plan, including implementation and time lines. Money is not a consideration.
